inspiration

While I do love fashion, learning about new designers, upcoming trends and flipping though sumptuous editorials, I find that I am much more interested in personal style. I am always drawn to the simple, sophisticated and tailored, yet I feel myself straying from this fairly frequently.

Since I am somewhat new to the blogging world, I have been discovering bloggers, most of which are very well established with a significant fan following. To say that I check their sites religiously and that they inspire me, would NOT be any sort of an overstatement! Camille from Childhood Flames, and Karla of Karla's Closet are by far some of my favourites.

A
s I gaze into my closet, I find bright colours, stripes, and quite a variety of textures. Somewhat astray from my ideal neutral and monochromatic wardrobe. I might have to add some more goals to my new years resolution!

But aside from bloggers, I seek inspiration elsewhere. Time Out New York is a fantastic magazine and a fantastic website. I can procrastinate on that site for hours. And once I win the lottery I plan to move to New York and live in Queens or Brooklynn. I, New York is one of my favourite aspects to the site. The interviews are interesting and the people they meet never fail to entertain.

"Yo, whose your friend?"

This beautiful creature is one of my best friends. She is funny, unique and has been a muse and source of inspiration for many. I have been wanting to put up photos of her for a while, but I just happened to find this one on my computer now.

There will ba many more to come I'm sure!

Flowers in January

This skirt was my new years eve present to myself. Found it in the h&m sale section. Originally, the hem was about 2 feet longer. Hemmed it that day, wore it that night to celebrate NYE. I was pretty proud of myself! haha
